Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet said, "I am more closer to the believers than their own selves, so whoever (of them) dies while being in debt and leaves nothing for its repayment, then we are to pay his debts on his behalf and whoever (among the believers) dies leaving some property, then that property is for his heirs."

As Salaamu Alaikum,
 
Alhamdulilah, with the blessings of Allah (SWT), Masjid purchased the property next door last Jumuah. This was only due to the help and mercy of Allah (SWT) and the overwhelming support of the community, for which Shura of Masjid Shuhada humbly thank Allah (SWT) and each one of you for your continued support. Within 10 days of the appeal, community responded, and remaining funds were raised - Alhamdulilah. This is a great example of what we can achieve when the community responds and works together.
 
JazakAllah Khair for your continued support. May Allah (SWT) gives you all the best of reward in this life and in the hereafter (Ameen)
 
As always we request and appeal to you all to be active participants of the programs @ the Masjid so that Masjid remains the center of gravity for the community, InshaAllah.

Subject: Excellent News and Urgent Appeal From Masjid Shuhada
As Salaamu Alaikum,
 
Alhamdulilah Allah (SWT) has blessed our community with an opportunity to purchase a new property adjacent to our Masjid. 
 
Masjid Shuhada has signed a contract to acquire the property located at 2650 Route 206 (right side of the Masjid) for $237K. It has a house and a big lot, which will resolve our current parking problems and will give us room to expand in the future, InshaAllah. 
 
Masjid immediately need the remaining $75K to close this property. Tentative closing is scheduled at the end of this month.
 
Masjid is looking for your generous contributions as Donations, Qardh-e-Hasana (Beautiful Loan), or Qardh (Loan). Qardh (Loan) will be paid back in the agreed upon time, InshaAllah.

No positive naked-eye hilal sighting reports have been received from anywhere in the mainland USA or Canada. Negative reports have been received from many locations. Therefore, the Committee has decided to complete 30 days of Ramadan, and Eid ul Fitr will fall on Wednesday, August 31.

May Allah accept all our worship and righteous intentions this Ramadan.

Islamic Circle of Greater Trenton (ICGT) Policy on Moon sighting:

The Islamic Circle of Greater Trenton (ICGT) comprises of many Masaajids in South Jersey and PA. As in the past, the ICGT does not depend on calculation, but depends on actual moon sighting information provided by previously identified following four reliable organizations in North America.

  • The Central Eid Committee of Greater Chicago
  • Hilal Sighting Committee of North America based in New York
  • Hilal Committee of Metropolitan Toronto, Canada
  • Zaytuna Institute in California

Each one of them has qualified prominent scholars, and we accept any positive confirmation by anyone of them as reliable. Those who follow this procedure of sighting the moon among the ICGT members are:

  • ICMC Masjid, Lawrenceville, NJ
  • Islamic Center of Ewing, NJ
  • Masjid As-safat, Trenton, NJ
  • Masjid Taqwa, Trenton, NJ
  • Masjid Shuhada, Mount Holly, NJ
  • Al-Furqan Academy, Hamilton, NJ
  • Zubaida Foundation, Yardley, PA.
  • TASMiNA Islamic Center, Highland Park, NJ

Masjid Shuhada and many other Masaajids, who follow actual moon sighting to determine the Islamic months will be following Islamic Circle of Greater Trenton (ICGT) policy, as they do every year. Information will be posted on our website and recorded on voice message, when available. ICGT members will look for the crescent moon on July 31, and based on information available from various resources, which also follow the same procedure in North America, an announcement will be made by the ICGT Shura Ameer on the July 31st night.
